Lana – Integrative Counsellor in Southeast London

My Journey to Counselling

My own colourful and complex journey is what led me to this profession. I know what it means to feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down—and I also know the power of having a safe space where you can finally exhale.

Therapy can be a powerful first step toward healing, self-discovery, and long-term emotional wellbeing. Whether you're navigating a difficult moment or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, I'll walk alongside you as you move toward feeling more grounded, empowered, and connected.

The benefits of therapy often extend far beyond moments of crisis—it can strengthen resilience, deepen self-awareness, and enrich your overall quality of life.

I'm real, down-to-earth, and human. And I love dogs. I worked in the corporate world before retraining as a counsellor, so I especially understand the pressures of juggling different areas of your life and how hard it is to do it all.

I offer a warm, confidential, and supportive space where you don't need to censor yourself or worry about being judged. You can bring your humour, your anger, your sadness, your confusion—whatever you're carrying. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Experience

Clinical Background

A significant part of my clinical work has been within the NHS IAPT service and community counselling settings, where I supported adults from a wide range of backgrounds. This experience deepened my understanding of cross-cultural dynamics, societal pressures, and the unique challenges that can shape emotional wellbeing.

I also speak Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, which allows me to connect with a broader range of clients.

How I Work

My Integrative Approach

My integrative approach means we can draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives and tailor our work to what feels most supportive for you. No two people are the same, so your therapy shouldn't be either.

Person-Centred Therapy

A warm, non-judgemental space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.

Psychodynamic Insight

Exploring how early experiences and relationships may be shaping your current patterns, emotions, and ways of relating.

Flexible Toolkit

Weaving in elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and creative methods when they feel helpful or grounding.

This blend allows us to move naturally between emotional depth and practical strategies, shaping each session to what you need in that moment.
