FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Integrative counselling draws from a range of therapeutic approaches—including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic insight, CBT, mindfulness, and creative methods—to tailor the work to what feels most supportive for you. No two people are the same, so your therapy shouldn't be either.

Absolutely. Many of my clients are coming to therapy for the first time. It's completely natural to feel nervous, and I'll go at your pace. The initial consultation is a great way to get a feel for what it's like before making any commitment.

I offer both open-ended and short-term therapy. Open-ended therapy continues for as long as you find it helpful. Short-term therapy usually involves around 12 sessions, with the option to extend if needed. We'll discuss what feels right for you during the initial consultation.

It's a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what you're looking for and get a sense of whether we'd work well together. You can ask any questions you may have about therapy or my approach. It takes place via phone call.

Each session lasts 50 minutes and takes place weekly at the same time. If suitable, we could agree to biweekly sessions. This gives you a consistent and reliable space to focus on yourself.

In-person sessions take place face-to-face in a private, comfortable setting in the BR3 area. Online sessions are via Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp video call, available across the UK. Both session types are 50 minutes and cost the same.

Yes. Everything we discuss is confidential. The only exceptions are in line with the BACP Ethical Framework—if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if required by law. I would always aim to discuss any concerns with you first. Full details are in my Privacy Policy.

Yes. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. This ensures I practise with professionalism, care and integrity at all times.

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at the full rate. I understand that emergencies happen, and we can discuss these on a case-by-case basis.

Payment is due before each session via bank transfer (preferred) or in cash. Full payment details will be provided when we begin working together.

I may be able to offer a limited number of concessionary-rate sessions. If cost is a barrier, please don't hesitate to ask—we can discuss this during the initial consultation.
